Why doesn't Josh Brolin have a star on the Walk of Fame?

Chris O'Donnell just got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which irritates me greatly. How can a guy who is a B list mediocre actor get a star, but Josh Brolin- Academy Award nominated A- list actor not have one?

To have one, one must be nominated by a company, fellow actor, producer, director, or, according to the site, a fan of the actor. I am really surprised he hasn't been nominated by someone over the years. I am seriously considering writing a letter.

Because he's just a B++ list actor. He's not an A list actor.

Walk of fame is not a really serious thing. It's mostly for fun and the tourists. People usually pay for their own stars and ceremonies. And the bar for getting a star is not very high. It's kinda like getting a wax figure or something.

They cannot nominate themselves and the board has to approve it. However, as you said, a lot usually do pay for their own stars. I think the going rate is around $30,000.

Abolutely. The star thing is a farce; I'm glad to see a talented and successful actor avoid the whole thing.
I suspect that almost all managers or agents eat up the opportunity without pausing to consider the soul-crushing aspect of paying for one's own star. I believe that you have to be nominated but I'm also sure that an actor can quietly decline; the rest of the process is really rather silly. "Hello, we've decided you can have a star, sure, just give us a chunk of your earnings and we'll be glad to put a small portion towards a block of wet cement. You can pay for the ceremony, too. The rest of the money? Umm......"
