She's going to be hated and forgotten in a couple of years.

It's really sad, actually. Dont get me wrong, I totally love her work, but is going to be the same as Kidman and Winslet.
There was a time when Nicole Kidman was like the biggest star and everybody claim her to be the greatest actress, now she's box office poison and everyone hate her.
Kate Winslet was like a goddes for everyone and now just no one talks about her.
I predict Cate is going to be in the same club.

But Cate Blanchett is way more consistent with her success. Also her résumé looks already way more impressive, also the people she worked with. And no one talks about Kate Winslet anymore? She has a movie coming up, which is quite hyped.

Also... if Cate would do more theater or going totally into directing things and no one would talk about her work as an actress i would totally be ok with it.

Well she can become a box office poison for sure but that would hardly make her forgotten; it's not as if she's box office superstar now (nor has she ever been). I don't want to turn this into a war of actresses because I love both Kidman and Winslet but Cate is a bit different. One, she would never choose vehicles that made Kidman an unfortunate bo poison in the late 2000s, and picks roles to be a bit more challenging and different from each other, that Winslet didn't after her Oscar. Again, this is not a competition but I highly doubt that she'll become "box office poison". She always danced to her own tune our Cate.

There's a scene in "Fargo" where a prostitute is describing the Steve Buscemi character and she describes him as a "funny-looking guy". Blanchett is sort of like that on the female side, she's a "funny-looking gal", she isn't ugly but her facial features aren't exactly correct. That sort of thing goes a long way when considering a female actor's future success. She is an accomplished actress but she doesn't have the looks that will draw crowds of fans, she will either go more into directing or will have a long series of decent roles, much as Buscemi.

you make Nicole kidman sound dumb for choosing all the unfortunate roles she chose and you make it sound like cate couldn't ever make the same unfortunate role choices. the trust is no one always knows what role or what movie is going to be good.
