I presume it's still happening, last we know the script was being written by Aaron Sorkin and they were looking for a director. Cate was spotted last month in New York with Damien Chazelle (director of La La Land), I'd absolutely love it if he was in talks to direct. Also, they absolutely must get Oscar Isaac to play Desi Arnaz. Must.

Yeah in a technical acting sense Iโd say she would be one of the only working actresses with the skill to pull it off. Looks are not so important. Cate looks nothing like Katherine Hepburn either and yet she nailed that performance.
