He's like a cheap Chinese knock-off of James Cameron: Profitable, marketable, and sometimes entertaining, but absolutely will not withstand the tests of time.

Though Bad Boys was pretty good. It'll still be funny in another 20 years.

But he already has withstood the test of time in the last 20 years. Many moviegoers around the world have watched and enjoyed his films since 1995. According to the wise prediction of his many critics, he should've vanished a long time ago.

I'm not talking about the last 20 years, I'm talking about the next 20 years.

And after 20 years, his critics will talk about his careers and legacies which will be "doomed" in the next 20 years again.

reply

Actually, no one will really be talking about him, and really only anime nerds will be talking about his forgettable movies.

Bad Boys being an exception of course.

Well if you desperately wanna believe that, do it. But don't use the term "Actually" to emphasize your mere hope and not factual prophecy.

LOL you're the one "desperately" trying to counter what I said.

Are you on his payroll, like some sad shill or something, or do you "actually" find yourself enamored with him and his work?

Me? I just find your comments about the achiever naively ridiculous. Your comments remind me of cynical greenhorns who confidently believe they know one or two about films and rashly evaluate something. They often disparage other's some achievements as nothing or easy task. They're often sure of something which cannot be ensured. But some men wouldn't. They can respect and appreciate other's hard work as it is. James Cameron said he's studied Bay's films and "reverse-engineered" his shooting style. Ingmar Bergman enjoyed Armageddon and watched Pearl Harbor with his grandson during his lifetime. They "actually" found themselves enamored with his works. I don't know if Bay's films will be well remembered, but I wouldn't hastily conclude that his efforts and achievements will be nothing. And I respect his various & successful career in the last 20 years.
