That's all he's in the business for, each one of his movies makes hundreds of millions and yet are all complete drivel.


So let me get this straight: you, personally, subjectively, think that ALL of his films are 'drivel', thus the absolute truth is that he only cares about money.

First: you, unlike the Bay fans like me, obviously know NOTHING about the guy. Second: you are clearly not aware of the fact that every single person who had worked with Bay is praising the guy for his constant dedication to his craft, his tireless work on set and his desire to always deliver an entertaining movie. Second, Spielberg himself called him one of the best action directors ever, Neil Blomkamp made a trip to LA a few years ago just because he wanted to meet Bay and tell him how much he loves his movies. Nolan is also a fan, George Lucas is a fan, Joseph Kahn is also a fan. And the list goes on and on.

A filmmaker who cares ONLY about money will never be praised that way by other filmmakers.

So there you go.

By the way EVERY single filmmaker cares, to a degree, about money. From indie directors like Kevin Smith, Adam Green (they said it themselves) to big-budget directors like Bay. The fact that you complain about people caring about money clearly goes to show that you don't know how the film business works. It's called film BUSINESS for a reason, pal.



Oh, by the way, did you just said that Suicide Squad, and Paul Anderson's Resident Evil flicks have INTELLIGENT, COHERENT plots and that are better than Bay's films??????????????????????????????????????????????

The fact that you praised movies like Battleship, Suicide Squad, Pacific Rim, Resident Evil and pretty much dismissed ALL of Bay's films, including his classic movies The Rock and Armageddon, both included in the Criterion Collection, goes to show that you are either just trolling this board or that you really have some messed up opinions on films. To say the least.

I can literally counter every single negative thing you said about Bay and his films, but after you mentioned 'Resident Evil' and 'intelligent plots', you basically sabotaged your entire thread.

A board that I visit frequently, as you can see by my post history. Just because you've either deleted all your other comments on IMDb or this is your first time posting, that's entirely your own problem. A stalker is someone who goes after you on every single board you post.

I enjoy most of these movies too (as you can probably guess by my avatar, I'm a Resident Evil fan), but they're far from flawless and many of them are equally as flawed as Bay's films, if not more.
Zack Snyder's movies rely heavily on visual effects as do Fast & Furious, Resident Evil, Marvel and Pacific Rim. Fast & Furious also has plenty of stereotypes and unrealistic action, and Sucker Punch sexually objectifies almost all of it's female characters. All the flaws I've listed here is what you just criticized Bay for. Battleship? No, just no!

Michael Bay's films aren't perfect, but most succeed in being enjoyable pop corn entertainment and don't try to be anything more than that. And his flaws are no worse than most other directors of his genre

You have some serious double standards going on here!

Newsflash - You HAVE to make movies for money, its how the industry works. But given that you're clearly a troll not much point trying to argue with you.
