Alexis Should Stop Bashing Gay Actors

It really pisses me off that Alexis Arquette has gone on this rampage against Neil Patrick Harris and other gay actors for not wanting to be photographed in public with their significant others. She was quoted as calling them 'weak and pathetic.'

Of all people, Arquette should understand that coming out and becoming comfortable as an openly gay/lesbian/transgender person is not easy and takes time, ESPECIALLY in Hollywood. I think it was brave of Neil Patrick Harris to acknowledge his sexuality at all given the Nazi way he was outed by several websites.

Everyone is entitled to some measure of privacy, even Hollywood actors. I'm sure Alexis went through of pain and soul searching during her transition, and I applaud her strength and courage, but she needs to realize that everyone is different and should be allowed to conduct their own personal lives the way they see fit.

Frankly, this whole attack smacks of Alexis trying to get publicity for herself. And that is sad.

Hmmm, I didn't hear about this...it is rather...insensitive. But maybe she was just trying to be like, 'Hey, be proud of who you are'? Well, in any case, it is something to ponder.

Alexis is right it was pathetic and weak..... be proud!!! now don't get me wrong. I know its hard to come out but if you are a celebrity you can't be that stupid not to know that people will know about you. You want a private life don't be in the business of entertaiment !!! i know people who rather die than come out and its pretty sad but these actors have a chance to use their celebrity status to reach out to sucidal gay teens and anyone who is rejected because they are different. There's nothing insensitive about it. Two actos who have money and a carrer and won't speak to the gay press or be part of the community because maybe they feel scare it will mess up their careers!! please!!!

They were better off staying home inside their closets!!!

I'm sure some of you won't agree but that's o.k !!! I can't change anyone's mind as much as no one can change mines. Attack all you want!!!

suicidal teens, please...

sometimes its still hard to come out in the entertainment business. its not just the way youre seen on magazines, those actors have families too. she shouldnt be all judgemental about people. it took her a while to find herself. i can very well argue, why didnt she chop her thing off a long time ago? she should be proud of who she is...

I agree with you very much. While Alexis likes to be very flamboyant and parade around like Britney Spears with a bunch of different guys and in slutty outfits, not all gay/lesbian/transgender people are like that. Some people respect their privacy and others and many actors who are straight want their private life protected. Sure if you enter show business you're going to lose privacy, but everyone and any human being deserves to be respected and given their privacy. Actors and singers and others (such as directors) and still people too and need to be treated like people.

Can't I say hello to anyone?

Interestingly, he/she is only attacking actors who would be photographed in public -- you know, the ones who work on recognizable projects and achieve fame? Jealous much?

Being proud has nothing to do with it. There are straight actors who don't like to be photographed with their significant other. Some people just like more privacy than others.

Also, it might be that Neil is respecting the wishes of his partner. Maybe his partner doesn't wantto be in the papers. Maybe hispartner is not out yet.

It doesn't matter why. The bottom line is that it's entirely up to the individual how much of a spectacle they want to make of themselves. Not every gay actor has to be an activist.
