His and Roseanne's 'feud'...

Please no insults towards me as I am not sure the story behind these two. I went back on the message board and cannot see anything there. I understand he and Roseanne were married, which from what I have heard didn't hurt his career anyways. Now these two were kind of before my time of paying attention to tv/actors so I am not sure what all happened. Why did they divorce and what was the big feud afterwards? Did they bad-mouth each other a lot in the media? Did they ever keep in touch or bury the hatchet? I did read they fell out again after e-mailing each other but that he also showed up recently at her roast. I ask for any and all details, and thank anyone who replies, but please don't insult me based on me not knowing much about the personal lifes of these two actors who are not quite in the spotlight as much as they once were.

I saw Tom Arnold talking about when he was married to Roseanne, she stabbed him in the chest with a butcher knife. He unbuttoned his shirt and showed the scar. He didn't talk about their divorce but I wonder if the fact that she tried to kill him is what started it.

First, when Roseanne met Tom, she was still married to Bill Pentland. Tom was an addict and needing that big break, and Roseanne gave it to him. Then they got married and he was a regular on Roseanne and ended up getting two sitcoms thanks to Roseanne. I thought from the beginning his marriage to Roseanne was more of a career move, and Rosie figured that our later on. That's when things got messy and both got immature and bad - mouthed each other. I honestly think he did marry Roseanne to better his career. He did humble up finally and stated Roseanne helped him get sober and he was grateful for her. I also hear Tom wasn't really liked on the set of Roseanne. I think both of their egos got big and Roseanne developed a reputation.
