The best scene he has filmed?

I can't really decide for one, so here is my list (in no order):
1. The Master - The last shot of Freddie in the beach.
2. There Will Be Blood - The oil derrick sequence.
3. Punch-Drunk Love - Every time Barry gets violent.
4. Magnolia - When T.J starts to cry with his father.
5. Boogie Nights - The New Year Party
I have not seen Sidney yet.

I love his movies so much that it's hard to pick one...but the opening shot of Boogie Nights as well as the pool shot would be very high on my list.

I think these 4 are the best in no particular order:

Processing Scene in The Master

There Will Be Blood bowling alley scene

Boogie Nights Firecracker Scene

Magnolia Raining Frogs scene

The Master: the whole movie, the scene where Freddie is drinking from the bomb in the ship
There Will Be Blood: the oil fire, Daniel in his son in the fields and what not

I love all of his films but I'm gonna have to go with the firecracker scene in Boogie Nights. To be more specific, Diggler's "Coming of Age" moment when he stares off into space as the sh_it's about to hit the fan

You mean Norman Bates Jr. is the baby daddy?

The movie becomes too log at that point. And the firecrackers get annoying.

reply

Wrong. Movie isnt too long and the scene is one of the best scenes in cinema.

I love that scene. Brilliant epiphany moment.
