Why Hollywood Won't Cast Tim Allen Anymore

Tim Allen’s success on the standup circuit led to him starring on the long-running sitcom Home Improvement, which gave him nationwide fame and led to eventually star as the voice of Buzz Lightyear in Disney’s beloved Toy Story movies. This, and the success of another Disney franchise, The Santa Clause, seemed to signal that Allen’s meteoric career would never stop ascending. Since appearing in the 2007 ensemble comedy Wild Hogs, however, he’s rarely been seen on the big screen. What happened to the convict-turned-comedian-turned-movie star? Here are some of the reasons why Hollywood won’t cast Tim Allen in movies anymore.

I don't think he minds. His movie career was never very successful, save for The Santa Clause and Toy Story movies. His other movies were terrible (Jungle2Jungle, Christmas With the Kranks, Joe Somebody, etc.) Tim's place seems to be on television, rather than the silver screen. Home Improvement was a big hit and Last Man Standing is still successful. And besides, he's worth millions. He'll be fine.

Christmas with the kranks is a decent holiday movie. Seeing the neighborhood they live in always gets us in the holiday mood.

He peaked early on. He is the only actor to have the top selling book, number one TV show and the number one movie at the same time.

I liked a few of his movies but they weren't films I'd watchover and over. My favorite was Galaxy Quest. That one I DO have a copy to watch over and over. His portrayal of the hammy actor Jason Nesmith who plays the Kirk-like 'Commander Peter Quincy Taggert' was clever and hilarious.

The whole cast was great. But then I am a Trekker.

it was cancelled

His estimated net worth is $80 million dollars and he still has Toy Story 4 coming out in 2019 so I think he's pretty happy with his career.
