Just his acting in Gone Baby Gone and The Assassination of Jesse James (especially the latter) destroy anything that Ben has done (with the exception of Good Will Hunting, and that movie was good in spite of Ben's acting... great writing though). Ben should stick mostly to directing and do crap like "He's Not That Into You" to pay the bills if he needs to, Casey's got the acting talent in the family.

shareWhile I do think Casey is a better actor than Ben, I don't think Ben's a bad actor. He can be very charismatic and relatable in his roles. I think his problem is that he often picks the wrong roles for his acting style. But he was great in Chasing Amy and Dogma and I happened to like him in Good Will Hunting [though Casey definitely outshined him there].
I dunno. Maybe it's just me.

He's been good in couple of films. I agree about Dogma, he was really good in a few scenes and Chasing Amy he was solid. I guess I wouldn't call him bad, but he's definitely not someone who I'd mention when we're talking good actors of his generation. Casey has that potential, to be as good as Dicaprio is becoming and as good as Ed Norton is.

Ben Afflecks tradmark seems to be a ramble on a bloated piece fancy script that he memorized. He does it in almost every single movie I have seen him in and it gets really old.
He is one of those actors that makes me cringe when he talks.
Now Casey on the other hand absolutely blew me away in Assassination of Jesse James. Actually, I was more impressed with his performance on my 2nd and 3rd viewing (its one of my all time favorite films)
He was pretty good in Gone Baby Gone, but way better in Jesse James - Maybe because Ben Afflack was nowhere near to hack things up.
Gone Baby Gone was well directed, and that is where Ben needs to stay - BEHIND the camera.
Can't wait to see more great performances from Casey!!!
for me casey is more HOT than ben, i really i'm in love with him and really loved the jessejames and gone baby flicks. the sky is the limit to casey's talent.
