It's actually pretty sad really,

She was cast as Vikki Vale in Batman 1 and then was injured and had to be replaced by Basinger. She wanted to audition for Batman Returns and they wouldn't let her. So she got in a Catwoman suit and went around the WB lot looking for Burton and Keaton. She then appeared on the Joan River's show in the same outfit and insulted Burton.

Too bad, she would have made a damn good Catwoman. She probably would have looked a lot like Catwoman as she is drawn in the modern comics, given her dark hair and all. She probably would have looked kind of imposing opposite Michael Keaton.

Often times, I hear about how so-n-so was considered for such-n-such movie, and I can't picture the alternative. However, I can picture Sean Young as Catwoman. I think she would have been great (as much as I liked Michael Pfieffer's performance). And I think she would have gelled with Michael Keaton.

Why in the world she didn't get that role is beyond me. Michelle Pfeiffer did a pretty good job (and I'm sure Annette Bening would have as well), but honestly, Sean Young could kick the crap out of both of them. I like to pick out certain Catwoman scenes and imagine Sean Young doing them...

-Catwoman's first fight (in the alley), dialogue and all.

-The line, "That's my name, Maximillion, don't wear it out or I'll make you buy me a new one."

-Selina's breakdown after being shot several times.
