Victim of being a woman

I just saw Sean Young in the 87 movie and I was so impressed by her performance that I wondered who that actress was since I did not see her in nowadays movie or in any of the tons of movies I have seen in my life.

Then I saw that Sean Young was a woman in Hollywood but that she did not act the part of being a woman in Hollywood. Although in the 87 movie she accepts to acts as if she was in a porn except that she's not fully naked and we don't see the genitals, in real life it appears that Sean was not ok to be the baby doll but would have clearly a masculine behavior : fighting, saying it as she thinks it, and having a pro-active behavior such as coming with her own costume to meet director and other deciders of a movie.

So, whether Sean sometimes was over the top or not is no debate for me, because tons and tons and tons of male actors are and they're still in very big budget movies. I believe her when she says she's been punished by Hollywood because she simply said the truth about it. Debra Winger stopped acting and said clearly the kind of pressure she would feel as a woman actor. It's insane how rare are the roles where woman don't have to show skin or behave based on their sex-appeal or be only the + 1 of a man who has no real weight on the movie.

It's very clear through only the performance of 87 that Sean Young was not just a pretty face but a strong and intelligent woman. Who wants that in Hollywood? Rare women made it through time. Meryl of course. One rare fine actress who never showed much skin, smart gal, because sooner or later, a woman gets old... Men don't have even to worry, even with a big belly and ugly faces, they keep on... I don't always think so much about women vs men but really in this case look at the two young actors of the 87 movie I'm referring to : Kevin Costner and Sean Young. Look at the opportunities Kevin Costner has got! Look at Sean Young. Only one question then : if Sean Young had been a man, where would she be now?

My consolation : a career is not everything in life. Sean existed, acted, I saw her, I don't need her to play in 10 000 movies to see her value. Thank you Sean. Love. (Note : I love Kevin Costner very much, and boy, is he pretty up to today!)

*beep* And I say that as someone fully aware of the issues women have in Hollywood. Her problem is that she's crazy. Like, actually crazy. If she had been a man, she'd be where she is now, because she's crazy.

WORDS MEAN THINGS! Also, before you come to bitch about a plot hole, rewatch the show/movie.
