A possible 8th nomination in 2017?

Kate has two upcoming projects listed within 2017:

-Untitled Woody Allen Project
-The Mountain between us

She´s starting to have Oscar buzz for 2018 Oscar Season, basically because of Allen´s film. Allen is a hit/miss director, so probably she´s performed an Oscar baity role or not, that will depend on so many things, the depth of her character, the script etc. But currently I think this first project is the one who is more likely to bring her back to Oscars again.

My question would be about the other one. It´s based on a book and her co-star will be Idris Elba. Has anyone read this book? I only have a general knowledge about it and the plot. What type of project is this one? An Oscar-y one? A kind of romance film with much more depth because of the situation and environment where the leading characters live their story but that´s all? A relatelively likely box office success with no awards track?

though i so wish that she will get her 8th Nom for Collateral Beauty or The Dressmaker next year but chances seem to be very less as there are many brilliant performances this year . but still hoping for her. she might get golden globe nomination. but yea as you said she will certainly get her nomination in 2018.

I bet she will be nominated next year for Woody Allen's movie. She has a baity role in it.

The Mountain betweens us starts filming 1st december to 17th february 2017.
Vancouver and British Columbia and New Zealand as filiming locations, so Kate´s will be back to where everything started out.

I am very excited for the Woody Allen movie. I read somewhere that Allen wanted Kate for Blue Jasmine but she turned it down. So if her role in the new film is half as juicy as Jasmine, she's surely getting a nomination.

I'm most excited about the Untitled Lee Miller project. Antony Penrose, Miller's son and author of the biography on which the film is based, has said on Twitter the screenplay is progressing very well and that they hope to release the film 2018.
