A brilliant start, then he ruined it

Wil Wheaton had a really brilliant and terrific start in the acting world when he was in Stand By Me, he did a really good job as Gordie, then, he ruins his image and his career by taking on the wimpy, annoying, whiny role as Wesley Crusher in STG, how could he do that! Wil, you had such a great beginning and then you ruined it with such a terrible role. You could've done something better.

You do not "ruin a career" by becoming an integral part of a mega-popular television series.

I suggest he grew tired of the profession and left it for other callings.

reply

He ruined a career by being wholly inadequate to playing the role of The Second Coming of Picard and having the charisma of a wet fart from an imbecile. Game over.

🤣

I hate to disagree with you but his attitude and decision to leave ST:TNG ruined his career. Even though his resume shows many "accomplishments".....none have been as good a STAND BY ME and ST:TNG. Had he stayed and cooperated on ST:TNG he would have left a huge legacy and gotten more significant parts in larger movies. In my opinion leaving was a huge career mistake.

Yeah, like all the other ST:TNG cast members have.

reply

Yes leaving St:TNG was a mistake and Wil has admitted that. He should have stayed on there but I think he likes what he does now writing his blog and guest starring on tv shows. I am sure you have also made mistakes in your life but people probably don't rub it in your face.

Walking away from it in a huff, treating the other actors like trash and generally copping an attitued does.

... which is why (in part) he's a washed up has-been today.

reply

the absolute only reason he should have stayed on TNG is if they rewrote his character into something less douchey.

Wesley Crusher was the single most retarded thing in TNG. I like wil wheaton, but if wesley lasted through the entire series i would hate him so much every time i see him. The only reason i think i still dont hate him is because he looks so different than he did as wesley lol.

Ask Jar Jar Binks how his acting career went after Star Wars.

reply

The only types that do "rub it in your face" are pathetic losers who could only dream of being as successful as you have been.

So if WW had stayed on TNG he would have had a big movie career? Just like Jonathan Frakes, Levar Burton, Brent Spinner and Gates McFadden did you mean? Oh wait..... WW is huge in the nerd community and if you follow him on Twitter, you would see he appears very happy with his life.
