Why would a U.S. President need to "love" another country? Does Netanyahu "love" the United States?

reply

Ha ha, what a twat, he just continues to make an ass of himself doesn't he?

Netanyahu: America is easy to push around:

So America should love Israel? Seems like the feelings aren't exactly mutual!

reply

Netanyahu has boasted that he and the Zionists in Israel can "manipulate American foreign policy." I think it's safe to say Bibi hates America. Yet he gets a free pass to say what he wants...AIPAC ensures that.

Remember the USS Liberty incident.

If Israel is such a "great ally," why do they refuse to sign a defense treaty with the United States?

Israel can be difficult. I absolutely respect their right to exist, where they are. But that doesn't mean I have to love every last thing they do. I imagine President Obama feels the same.

reply

Well, has O ever exhibited any fondess for Israel? Voight was stating a fact that O will probably find himself free to agree with after he's out of office.

There is a wonderful graphic juxtaposing Obama and Netenyahu at the same age. The Jew is going out to fight to the death to ensure his nation's survival. Obama is choom ganging it.

But, I digress. If you'd like to see Voight in a movie that was wildly popular with the left and a very successful commercial venture see Coming Home w/Jane Fonda.

I admire Voight for his career longevity and his recognition, as I understand it, of his nation's best interests.

As a rule however, I'd be happier if actors were political in private rather than public. However, the film and television industry is always moaning about the Blacklist. What exists now in the media and schools and universities and in too many frightened workplaces far exceeds the worst of those McCarthyist excesses.
