Has Jon Voight ever addressed what made him switch such extreme sides politically and socially? He was an outspoken liberal activist through the eighties, then early in this century seemingly turned on a dime. Has he talked about what the inciting incident (or incidents) was?
Regardless of his politics, he's still a fine actor.
It's my opinion that when a person suddenly turns from liberal to extremely conservative in their sixties or seventies, and believing in conspiracy theories, it's a sign of early-stage dementia.
I'm quite serious about this. It's a sign that a person is losing their capacity to understand the big picture, think critically, and solve problems. As this happens, the emotional state becomes dominated by fear (and paranoia), as the capacity to understand reality fades away.
