first of all, I recently saw the episode of the simpsons (not the one Kathleen actually did provide her voice but) making fun of her voice.
secondly, I just saw the Nip Tuck episode which she appeared.
doctors saying she really has a smoker's skin.
to me, her voice in nowdays sounds like Italian-American mafia.
She was a heavy smoker for decades and recently quit or still doing... That won't be a surprise.
the opposite way will be very shocking.
Old post, but put it this way, Turner's voice is the result of heavy drinking and smoking. Whether she has quit or not, the damage to her vocal cords is permanent and the timbre of her voice will never return.
There are surgical procedures that can repair some of the damage, but they're risky, especially for RA patient who relies on prednisone for treatment, for the steroid mitigates the immune system and greatly increases the chances of post surgical infection.
