Star Trek suggestion

I'd like to see Billy Bob play a star ship captain. Maybe just a few episodes and possibly locked in a rivalry with fellow captain Brad Dourif. And while I'm day dreaming, could he use a British accent for the role (possibly a wish too far?).
He's done almost no sci-fi so perhaps he doesn't like it but the idea popped into my head as I was catching up with Discovery.
