Kind of an idiot:

Just read this in his quotes, and it makes him sound like an ignorant fool:

"I believe in a higher power. I've studied Eastern philosophies, and I've studied the Koran. We've devalued everything worth believing in. Now we're tearing into religion. A line should be drawn. The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) and The Da Vinci Code (2006) borders on that. I was glued to the book, but afterwards I thought, "Oh my Lord, now we're tearing into God and our faith". Are we going to be turning into a reality show, too? I certainly hope not.

No, what's ignorant is you thinking that only your beliefs.

Sounds like a very smart man to me.

fudgenuts101, I'm not sure what part of this you find ignorant or offensive. Maybe you are an Atheist, which is fine. I have no problem with that. I just don't see why you think Swayze sounds like "an ignorant fool". He's certainly not being preachy. He's just making an intellectual observation, which he states very well. Possibly you are religious but think your religion is the only correct one and take offense at him mentioning "Easter philosophies" or "the Koran". Not sure. In the end, sadly, you are the one that sounds ignorant, not Swayze.

My "Easter Philosophies" are concerned with baskets of candy and colouring eggs. So leave me out of it.

No one ever cast PS for his brain; but when it comes to religion logic rarely comes into play, that's why it's called "faith". That doesn't mean someone is stupid.

However, that statement does seem rather silly when you consider it basically boils down to "Maybe that book I read and enjoyed should not haver been written."

How many times do people need to be reminded that TDC was a work of FICTION, and never pretended to be otherwise? And as for "tearing into God and faith, please; if your faith can't stand up to one movie and one book, it wasn't much to begin with.
