..she says it's not her to blame. And why would he make a statement, knowing how it would make him look?
______________
[on shooting Dirty Dancing (1987) with co-star Jennifer Grey] She'd slip into silly moods, forcing us to do scenes over and over. We did have a few moments of friction...she seemed particularly emotional, sometimes bursting into tears if someone criticized her.I can't open that link the OP posted. She looked very bitchy to me regardless. Another spoiled and pampered child star born into fame.

Patrick said that they had some arguments because she was afraid and because of her "ego" all while he was bossing her around , staying in character in between takes. so if anyone was a pain in the a...it was him. She sure didn't have to accept that he bosses her around or to stay in character in between takes.

Many actors stay in character between takes. If she couldn't get used to that (KNOWING that was what he was doing,) then she had a problem.

reply

She s not the one who had a problem since he s the one unable to make a difference between himself and his character.

reply

Of course he could. He was staying in character because he was a method actor. Many actors are, and many use that technique. It is a tough field, and there is not room for over sensitivity. It was not his fault if she had such a thin skin.

reply

Meryl Streep greeted Anne Hathaway on the first day of "The Devil Wears Prada" and told her specifically that this is the last nice thing she is going to say to her until filming wraps. Just in case you need another example of a method actor.

reply

Thin skin? Definitly not. It s not normal to stay in character once cameras are off and to force it on others. Any actor who can t separate fiction of reality, who stays in character even when cameras are off has a problem. not others who can separate fiction of reality

reply

Then I suppose the many, many actors who do stay in character are just abnormal. But, given the success of their careers, it evidently works.

Angelina Jolie. Robert DeNiro. Dustin Hoffman. Kate Winslet. To name a few. Just not normal (but, evidently effective!)
