I may be a little late to the party with this one (given he was born half a century ago), but Kiefer?

"Kiefer Sutherland" sounds cool but could you imagine if he said to you "please, just call me Kiefer"?

"Hey Kiefer, you coming to the pub?"

Just doesn't roll off the tongue.

He is named in honor of director Warren Kiefer, who directed Donald Sutherland in his first feature film. Just for the record his full name is Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland.

Kiefer is the german word for jawbone and also pine-tree. So that would be even more ridiculous.
