Streisand announces Summer Concert tour, new album release

Barbra Streisand announced this morning that she will kick off a 'mini summer tour' this August, covering major US cities and Toronto. This will coincide with the release of her newest album she's been recording this past winter, titled: "ENCORE: Movie Partners Sing Broadway".

Streisand's last album, 'Partners' debuted at #1, making her the only artist to have a #1 album in six consecutive decades (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s). Her last concert tour was in 2012, titled 'Back to Brooklyn'. The current concert will have a songlist of her hits from the past six decades, as well as new songs recorded for the new album.

The tour dates announced so far:

August 2 / Los Angeles
August 4 / San Jose
August 6 / Las Vegas
August 9 / Chicago
August 11, 13 / Brooklyn
August 16 / Boston
August 18 / Washington D.C.
August 20 / Philadelphia
August 23 / Toronto

Tickets go on sale to the public May 25, but AMEX card holders can pre-purchase a week earlier. Ticket buyers will also get a free copy of her newest CD with their purchase. No official release date for the album has been released, but it's expected to hit stores during her three week concert tour.

Nope.. at least not yet. BTW, prices are rumored to be from the $100 - $700 range. We'll see....

Since I live in L.A. and have a birthday in August, I may go. This would
be my third time seeing Streisand.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the first time Streisand has
done a concert to promote an album? I know "Release Me" was released
the first week of the "Back to Brooklyn" tour, but other than that, I
don't think Streisand has ever previously tied in a release with a
concert tour. We can also expect some Hilary promoting no doubt.

Yes, I believe it is. The album is scheduled to be released August 23, from what most sources are saying.

Yes and if she's smart she takes this tour to Europe in the fall. What better way for Streisand to get hit album across Europe by promoting it on tour? It would be smash (and I would love to see her)!!

I doubt she'll do that. I think she wants to concentrate on the US market this time.

People have doubted it before, Back to Brooklyn was also thought of as an US tour only since it didn't make sense in Europe and see what 'we'got in 2013.

Please hope for us PVD ;-)
