Not much as an actress

I'll never understand why she calls herself an "actress who sings." She's not that good an actress. A true actress cares most about the role, not simply being the "star" of a piece. A true actress can shine even in smaller roles.

Streisand almost always has to either have a lead, with the exception of those stupid comedies with De Niro. A true actress would do television if the part is exceptional. Her ego has prevented her from ever exploring anything truly interesting in terms of film and performance.

I agree. A blind man can see that she's stuck up. I think she was only very good in two films - Funny Girl, for which she received an underserved Oscar, and The Way We Were. The rest she was merely okay, passable or dreadful (Nuts) in.

Yes, not a big budget, sophisticated vanity project that is self-conscious about itself. For Pete's Sake 'is a real charmer, unpretentious and fun. We see an older, more real, funny and natural Streisand in The Guilt Trip-12 too.

She's a wonderful actress. True, she's also a huge star but that's a separate issue. The problems you have with her are the same you'd have with almost every other superstar as well.

In a world of Streeps, Stanwycks, Hepburns, and countless others, I would
hardly call Streisand a "wonderful actress." Of course, it's subjective.
Streisand is a unique screen presence, intensely charismatic, and
genuinely sexy. But there is little depth in her work and she has been
prone (especially in later years) to too many star turns.

I think she is a very good dramatic actress, but she is phenomenal when she does comedy. Her singing....well, I can't praise that enough. She has more talent in one finger than most of Hollywood has in their entire bodies.

She's a legend for a reason.
