Why do people hate Barbra Streisand?

I don't understand.... Is it because if a woman is successful, we want to criticize her and try to see her fail because she is not a man? She has political passion and loves to express her opinion?

You're the one who sees no wrong with Streisand due to worship.

Worship? Really? You and I have a different meaning of the word 'worship'. Very different.

You don't see my finding the "worst" in Anne Francis.

So, by your reasoning - you worship Anne Francis?

Anyone has a right see ponder the lighter/darker side of famous prolific celebrities; that's part of fame. Now it's about my whole world being depressing and awful due to Streisand; how phony. Get a reality check

I never said your whole world is depressing and awful due to Streisand (my God, how much credit or blame can you give her?). Your world seems rather depressing because of you. You seem to see the worst in everyone (celebrities and forum members included, not just Streisand) - it must be so horrible living that way.

It has nothing to do with her being a woman or successful. It has to do with the fact that two generations of people have grown up since she was famous back in the 70s, so most people of this generation don't know who she is, and don't care. Those who read political news have to hear her go to the Career Graveyard of Celebrity Politics see her as a pathetic loser and worse than has-been material.

It’s because she just can’t “shut up and sing”. It’s really that simple. She should keep politics and other hot-button issues out of her concerts, especially at the prices she and others of her stature charge.

Seems snobbish for one thing. And a hint of that insecure quality "reject or be rejected", which may stem from her childhood. And becoming too famous, too fast. If everyone is calling you "the greatest" at age 25..you may began to believe it.

My dislike came from being stuck in a car for three hours with my mother blasting her music when I was 10.

I think she did well in mert the Fockers, but I'm no fan of hers.

How many homeless shelters did she provide in Malibu or LA?

How many domestic abuse centers did she establish for child victims of violence?

There are numerous people in the world who suffer and people like Barbara Streisand do nothing. I certainly don't hate her, but I can certainly understand the ones that do.

Kudos to her for her video thanking first responders. Now we know what real heroes look like!
