the board is being censored?

What happened to the thread about her leaving twitter because of E. Musk and his band of 'deplorables'?
From what I gather, a lot of recent threads in MS board have been disappeared.
Did her publicist pay MC off to remove them? I'm genuinely curious.

reply

Dun dun duuun!

reply

The Mods should address this.

I doubt MC is being paid off. But someone must have complained.

reply

Nobody's paying me shit for this job.

I have no idea what thread was deleted and we Mods have no access to something once deleted so I cannot check. I have searched the email reports for 'Sirtis' and nothing comes up.

Is it possible the referred to thread was not under her profile but under another category? It's all I can think of as I so no reason for a thread about her leaving twitter would be removed.

reply

Well hopefully the OP reads this.

I know film industry people read IMDb. If anyone thinks every actor didn't check their IMDb board they're clueless. I'm just wondering how many industry people read MovieChat?

reply

I AM ANNA KENDRICK...AND I READ IT.

reply

Nice tiddies!

reply

MovieChat is a lot less active than IMDB's message boards used to be.

For a random example, I have no idea if Jack Black ever looked at his IMDB board, but the last time someone posted on his MovieChat board was in a troll thread eight months ago and nothing for two years prior, so there's no reason for him to go "oh hey, I wonder what everyone's saying over at MovieChat!" (if he even knows this place exists)

reply

I'm sure many ex forum board members from IMDB know this place exists.

Most probably thought it was stopped and never thought to look for replacements or know that of all the available forums, this place got it's db directly from IMBD so the old IMDB forum posts are still here.

reply

Meh, if I was a B- or C-Lister like Marina Sirtis I'd google my name to see what came up.

What, is Jack Black A-List?

reply

Yeah I mentioned Jack Black because he popped in my head as someone who has had an active online presence, so it'd make sense if he browsed IMDB's boards back in the day. I wouldn't be surprised if lots of people involved in "the industry" did so.

But MovieChat lacks the sort of activity and name recognition that IMDB had/has (which obviously isn't really MovieChat's fault), so I'd imagine that if someone like Black or Sirtis wanted to look up what people are saying, MovieChat is less likely to be the first place they'd look.

reply

Okay, I googled her name and MovieChat doesn't come up on the first page.

Still, I'd think a tv star whose career is no longer at its peak would probably browse around and check all the sources. But who knows? They might get jaded with their fame and don't care anymore.

I also found out she's Greek! I'm Greek. The name ending in "-is" is a giveaway.

But now I'm wondering if Jack Black is considered A-List or B-List?

reply

I'd assume B-List. He's been in quite a few big-budget films, but he usually plays a side character rather than a starring role.

reply

He announced he's quitting acting as well!

I think you're right, B-List.

reply

"Nobody's paying me shit for this job."

Lol, that explains a lot.

reply

I think there should definitely be an archive of the deleted threads for confirmation.
I was certain that I posted the aforementioned thread here (was it moved to Picard or was it an honest mistake on my part? I dunno) - yet, when i checked back, it, along with many other disparaging threads, were all gone - I thought that was curious/surreal. Moviechat is a pretty small forum - not enough for the publicist to pay into for discourse control, I think - hence the question. It should also be noted that if there are several mods - none having access to deleted threads archive, that would allow a woke mod (not you, but another) to start removing threads due to political bias, for example - and no one would be able to prove that a censorship took place unless they took screenshots.

You can search look your prior MovieChat posts using a Google function:
https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Amoviechat.org+%22maximmm%22&ei=W7knZNvID7Tj9APloZbYCA&oq=site%3Amoviechat.org+%22maximmm%22&gs_lcp=ChNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwEANKBAhBGAFQoihYi1Bg_FdoC3AAeACAAcYCiAHMEJIBCDMuMTQuMC4xmAEAoAEBwAEB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp

I ran the search and found your original Maria Sirtis post about 6-7 lines down. It’s not a deleted post archive but, it’s somewhat helpful if looking for your old posts

reply

You and me both. All we can do is search for words in the inbox titles.

No we do not have the ability to move threads elsewhere (wish we did). We do not have the ability to restore threads either.

A woke or biased mod wouldn't last 2 minutes here as we would soon hear about it.

reply

Who is MC? The moderator? There is no link on this site that I know about that gives any info about the admin/mod.

Or is "MC" an acronym?

reply

MC is MovieChat. The site you are posting on.

reply

Did you mean this thread?

reply

I'd say that's a yes seeing as it's by the same poster.

reply

A prediction you nailed 11 hours earlier

reply

It curious why they wouldn’t just use their own post history to find it.

Censors indicate an offensive anomaly, captain!
