Blackballed?

Marina Sirtis was not in attendance of the Star Trek convention in Las Vegas, August 2011. When asked about this, Adam Malin of Creation Entertainment (the company running the convention) said something about her being "black balled" from Creation events.

Does anyone know the story? I'm curious.

Given the fact that she is involved in Vic Mignogna's Star Trek Continues, it wouldn't surprise me if there was some truth to that.

Mignogna has also been banned from conventions as well for some serious violations.

Or maybe she voted Republican

How odd then that she was one of the featured stars at last weekend's Creations convention in Chicago ;)

IMDB's "ignore user" button = priceless :)

I'm not sure what was happening back in 2011...but apparently she's not "blackballed" from Creation Entertainment now. I say that ... because she was one of the stars at the CE Star Trek convention in Seattle this past weekend :)

Marina's always been one of my husband's favorite Star Trek Babes--and one of the few women he always brings up when he's talking about beautiful film/television stars--so I surprised him with tickets to the conference and a photo with her, too ... where she was just as warm and funny in person as she was on the stage. And--even without the quick meet & greet at the photo op--she was definitely one of the high points of the conference for us, too. She was hilarious on stage with Gates McFadden and Denise Crosby in a "The Women of Star Trek" panel! She/they started telling stories and had the whole crowd laughing. They also had one of the longest lines of fans wanting to ask questions that I saw that day, proving that she/they are still a big part of what made TNG the success it was!

Perhaps it has something to do with how Creation treats the stars? At a Farscape con in Burbank a couple of years ago Lani Tupu and Wayne Pygram were dancing at the gold ticket party. They were told by Creation staff 'get off the dance floor, go back to your rooms, you are not paid to socialise'

A couple of years ago there was a rumour that at a London Trek con they told an actor that he wasn't under contract to be down in the public area when he's not attending his panel or signing autographs. The actor replied 'well in that case, I'm not signing (autographs) tomorrow'. Creation backed down.
When I mentioned this story at a con I was attending two weeks after the Creation con, someone replied that it was probably Dominic Keating as he was at that con and he's the type that wouldn't allow himself to be bullied by Creation like that.

Knowing Marina's personality they probably tried to order her to only go to certain areas at the con and she chewed them out over it
