When asked by a fan if there were any new Star Trek series he thought rivaled his own, Shatner replied, “none of them.”

“I got to know [creator] Gene Roddenberry in three years fairly well,” said Shatner, “he’d be turning in his grave at some of this stuff.”

I totally agree.
The cartoon series was better than any of the shit they're putting out now (in the last 15 yrs)

I was shocked he said FUCK STAR WARS (except Hamil)
Why does he hate it?

True ... the cartoon series was for stories better than any of it, not just 15 years.

What is there to like about Star Wars except for Special Effects ... Star Wars was the opposite of Star Trek.

The great thing about old age is that you don't give a shit about sparing anyone's feelings anymore so you can speak your truth.

Normally I don't like the Shat, and consider him a dickwad, but in this case, we agree on something.

I thought I was the only one to call him "the Shat". ;-) All right!

While true, the sequels and follow-on series and movies are mostly very bad, the original Star Trek is not William Shatner's series. He was an actor, not a writer, or even a director.
