Marlon Brando

I think William Shatner is very similar to Marlon Brando.

They both have huge egos, both thought they were better than the rest.

Both seemed to be difficult to work with, many co stars from Star Trek have said how Shatner was difficult, he wanted his name bigger in the credits sequence, he tries to stand in front of others so he can have more of the screen.

Both gained a lot of weight in later years and can overact and be hammy at times.

Yes. And both are GENIUSES.

Ladies and gentlemen, here he is Mr. Warmth himself, the one, the only - Mr. Don Rickles!

interestingly Brando was considered for the role of Soran in Trek VII (but wanted too much $ that the budget would allow)

had he been cast - Brando and Shatner sharing the screen and in a fist fight ..and brando kills Captain Kirk!

EDIT heres the link to prove im not lying about this crazy story:

Bill expressed the highest respect for Marlon at one of his book signings I attended many years ago. I think he would have considered it an honor to act with his idol.

Shatner. Stewart. Brando. going head to head in a Star Trek movie

sweet jesus.

Just imagine the meals Marlon and Bill would have eaten. That would have taken up the entire budget.

I honestly wouldn't compare the two. Brando, he REALLY went off the deep end IMO. Remember his indian preservation rant? He just went to haywire and philosophical in his later years. He didn't even seem to enjoy the entertainment industry anymore; just hated Hollywood, hated people. Shatner never got that way.

Also, Shatner; yes, gained some weight. But, not THAT much. I seen him in person 4~ years ago. He doesn't look that fat at all in person, in fact terrifically good looking for a man in his 80's. It looked like he hit the pause button at 60. Marlon Brando, the man turned into a bloated whale in his old age. Two totally different people. Yes, alike in many ways, but also very different.
