Why is/was he so disliked by so many of the cast?

I know this has to have been dealt with dozens of times, but why do/did so many of the cast have problems with him since the shows and films? He seems to be fairly decent whenever he does interviews. Did he just let all the game and attention go to his head?

Just out and out jealousy. None of them had any kind of career like Bill's. Those pygmies wouldn't be remembered for anything except Star Trek.

Captain Sulu ... lol

Takei tried for decades to get that show made by selling it to anyone who would listen. Paramount finally threw him a bone and gave him a 'Captain Sulu' episode of "Voyager", which ended up being terrible.

This is so true.

He asked Nimoy just before he died if he could use his likeness in a documentary. Nimoy refused and Shatner used it anyway. Then Shatner wondered why Nimoy never talked to him again before he died. Pure narcissist.

He explained it at one of his speaking events, that the show had 3 leads and 4 supporting actors, and that the show was marketed on Spock and Kirk, so he never saw it as an ensemble series like the other actors did. The writing and the opening credits support his argument.
