Will Tom ever stop dyeing his hair and 'tash?

Personally, I think Tom would look even more sexy if he let his hair and 'tash go grey. For me, the permanent dyeing looks unnatural but that's just my view, and probably the studios still want him to be tall dark and handsome, not tall, grey and handsome!. He's hot no matter what, of course, but I think he'd be far sexier with grey hair and 'tash.

Are you KIDDING???? The studios ALREADY think he's too old- why do you think he didn't get the part of Magnum in the movie? As a male I very much disagree with you about grey (grey=old) why do you think so many women dye their hair? Why should women be the only ones to get in on the dying thing? I consider myself VERY lucky I'm almost 56 and my hair is still dark and I don't dye it.

Let's be realistic, a Magnum feature film starring the original cast wouldn't be very credible. A reunion tv episode would have been fine, but I think that Mathew McConaughy (sp?) is perfectly cast in the role of Magnum. Taking NOTHING away from Tom, Magnum will ALWAYS be etched into the annals of television history and was a great part of my teenage years.

I TOTALLY disagree! When you get down to it, Magnum was only a PI and there is no reason a 65 year old man couldn't play the part of a PI just as well as a man in his 40s! In fact, none of the parts the original cast played would preclude a man in his 60s from playing them just as well as one in his 40s including being a helicopter pilot. In REAL LIFE not everyone is young, handsome and gorgeous. I was a HUGE fan of Barnaby Jones and Buddy Ebsen was the same age Tom is now at the BEGINNING of the run of Barnaby Jones which made him 72 at the end of the show's run. They could also do like they did in Barnaby and add a younger person as an assistant.

No, I'm not kidding as I'm 50 and going grey but I'm happy to go grey. All I'm saying is that to me, and this is my opinion only (so let me express it without getting so angry ok?) Tom looks un-natural to be as dark as he is, ie to me, his hair looks dyed and not natural.

I have always admired Mr Selleck and was just expressing an opinion, not trying to start world war three :)

I've always thought that grey hair looks just as good as any other color as long as the person takes care of it. I've heard that grey hair loses moisture faster than other hair colors which is why it often look dry and brittle on people.

Just like Ronald Reagen. However, that be said, I am turning 70 and am not grey.

"Why should women be the only ones to get in on the dying thing?"

The difference is, most all of the women I know who dye their gray hair, have it done in a way that makes it look natural. Most men seem to just get some cheapo solid dark brown or jet black goop from their corner drug store and end up looking ridiculous. Another thing is, women wear makeup that helps hide their age. When you see a guy with jet black hair in contrast to his 60+ year old weather beaten face, the contrast is way too stark. Black, Hispanic, Asian etc. men can get away with it, but not white boys. Eric Estrada is able to pull it off just fine, but not Selleck. And certainly not lily white Irish me.
