Truman Capote said, "The better the actor, the more stupid he is." He said this on Carson. I had a link to it on YouTube, but the video was removed. Too bad, it was hilarious! He gave examples.

I think Truman is largely right. An exception is Liev Schreiber. He's a fine, perhaps great actor, but read his quotes in his IMDB bio. Those are the most intelligent, insightful remarks I've ever read from an actor. No matter how rough a role Schreiber has, I think it's impossible for his intelligence not to break through. Because it's real. For that reason, I don't think he's very convincing playing stupid.

James woods is the most intelligent actor, perfect score on his SAT's and an extremely high IQ

You're right. But, given some of his real-life antics, Woods is a little off, isn't he? Maybe we should say that Capote's law applies, unless they're crazy. ;)

Btw, had to update my post, because the link in it didn't work anymore. That's a bummer, because Capote was hilarious. He gave examples. "Brando...dumb as a stone." Then he said Jill St. John is very intelligent but can't act. Etc., etc.

I've always heard that Jill St John had a high IQ. Jayne Mansfied supposedly was a genius. Jayne goes way back.....you may have to look her up....she was sexpot and also the mother of mariska hargitay.

I had the chance to work with Michael Jackson who was as brilliant as they come.

Hey, Capote mentioned Jill St. John. Said she was very intelligent and a terrible actress. He said Brando was "dumb as a stone".

Yeah, they said that about Jayne. Wouldn't call her Oscar material.
