How does he do it?

According to IMDB he was in 48 movies in 2016 and already is credited for 46 films for 2017

How does he do it? Does Eric live in a RV and just travels from a movie set to another the whole year or did he invent teleporting?

Is he even human?

reply

I dunno but he seems to be willing to act in anything. He's a machine. I just wonder how much he's getting paid in some these roles that look like they have a 100,000 dollar budget.

reply

He probably gets paid in hookers, blow and booze then spends it all and moves to next movie project.

Absolute madman

That's what I wondered when they were discussing this on the old IMDb boards because what if one job is only for a few days in Canada, then another is a few days filming in New York or Florida or Louisiana. Where does he get the money to travel all over the country?

Maybe he does like Joey did in 'Friends' when he went to Nevada for an acting part but production closed down so he had to get a job in a casino.

reply

Looking at most of his recent movies, and I'd be surprised if he spends more than a day on set (if indeed any of these movies have sets?) Regardless of the role, he seems to look like he's wearing his own clothes and is content to spout a bit of (usually, unrelated) clearly unscripted mumbo-jumbo, that the (cough, cough) 'director' manages (unsuccessfully) to weave into the plot (or lack of) Chances are his scenes are usually added into these movies after most of them are 'in-the-can' (so to speak?)
He probably still makes a few grand per movie for these low budget DTV efforts (despite his minimal input) which (even with 40+ movies) probably only takes up a third of his year.....and every now and then, he may even get the odd 'studio' role (which will bring in bigger bucks) It's more telling about how inexperienced the directors must be...that *they* still consider him a marketable name (and I'm not ragging on Roberts, who I actually think is a great actor) but like Michael Madsen (or Tom Sizemore) he's really whoring himself out in the last decade (or so) but I'm sure he's having fun?
(and I wouldn't mind being a couple of quid behind him in the bank?)

reply

I find it wierd that Eric doesnt try to pursue better roles considering that he got prominent roles in Dark Knight and The Expendeables.

I always suspected that he is in huge debt and needs to earn easy money fast.

reply

I thought I remember watching an interview with him that said he went through a divorce or something so pretty much accepted any movie to pay for alimony. Don't quote me on that though.

reply

Haven't heard about a divorce but I do know he had drug issues at one point.

reply

I remember reading on the imdb boards that somebody was wondering this same thing and someone gave a link to an interwiev with Roberts where he explained that he has nothing to do with most of the movies listed on his imdb page. I can't remember what the reason was that these titles keep appearing on his page but it was something odd. Anyone remeber this or know what I'm talking about?

reply

If I recall correctly director or producer asks his agent if they can meet him and discuss the project. He said after the meeting if he doesn't straight up decline the role, they'll add him in as a cast member on IMDB in the hopes they can attract more potential investors because once upon a time he was a name.

reply

The only way to confirm this unusual information is to track down all the movies he's supposed to be in and see if he actually appears. I'd really be interested in the results of such a test.

reply

I'd imagine he does most of them. Another good test would to see which ones he has a large role in or parts that couldn't have been shot in 24 hour period.

reply

24 hour period?
Roberts is the ultimate professional and can knock out a 2 minute cameo in 2 minutes flat, adding in his on-set duration the guy is on the clock for a maximum of 4 hours and is paid a flat rate day fee

reply

He's listed for like 60 upcoming shows and movies.

Already 25 released this year.

reply

Eric is an absolute madman. A machine that cannot be stopped.

reply

he's like a runaway train

reply

Eric Roberts if the F--ing man! Anyway, it's not that hart for him. He churns them out and most film sets are in LA. It's not like he has to go country to country.

reply

Probably only films for a day

reply

I doubt they were all filmed that year. Many times movies are filmed years before they're actually released.

reply

Like x rated actors, he probably spends just a few hours on set and then off he goes to the next set.
