best casting ever

he was perfect as snape

He truly was. It really makes you think what happened with Fantastic Beasts, casting wise.

they just picked some popular actors willing to do the movie, johnny depp as grindlewald is a little cartoonish.

I totally agree. I think Johnny Depp was a poor choice.

I like the Ricker in all his roles. He was a hoot in Die Hard. Even if I thought he and Emma together, plus Kate and Hugh, would have looked more appropriate in Sense and Sensibility, I still liked his performance. And Snape was awesome ! I love that he was the bad guy throughout the series -- until the very end. So sorry he passed away so young. The guy was great.
I really dislike the movie Love, Actually, but the parts with Emma and Alan made it worthwhile. My favorite part of a movie I really didn't like.

He was always brilliant and I could not imagine a better casting choice for Snape.

Two movies my wife and I watch regularly at Christmas... Die Hard and Love Actually.

It always blows me away that the actor who played the smooth and menacing villain Hans Gruber was the same actor who played the bespectacled philandering, slightly befuddled middle-aged executive in Love Actually.

Mega-talented...

PS. He was a great villain in in the lesser known Western Quigley Down Under if you haven't seen that.

When I first read the books, well before the first movie came out, I mentally used Rickman's face and voice to inhabit my mental Snape. I was thrilled when they had the sense to copy my mind's eye and cast the right guy!

He really was the best. Not just someone who could do absolutely anything anyone might ever ask of an actor and do it well, but apparently he was a great guy in real life. It's such a shame he's gone.
