WHAT A SHAME....

Can not possible respect or watch an actor who is a member of that cult...

Oh well.

A bit of an odd statement... I don't believe in /support Scientology but if you made the same statement about any other religious group you'd look like a hate monger. And historically there has been a lot more damage to a lot more people from many other religions.

You can chose at appreciate art and not have it linked to the artist or their beliefs.

It's not likely that he'll miss you. He probably prefers to have fans that have a better command of the English language than you do, anyway.

I agree with you, utter nut jobs the lot of them. I was actually surprised to see a couple of such utter snobs attack you and jump to his defence in the replies when it is abundantly clear that Scientology is NOT a good thing for anyone

That is not an utterly snobbish statement. It's a very reasonable approach. The OP is hating on a guy's religion- a religion not linked to genocide or hate crimes, it must be said- and if that religion were Judaism or Christianity or Islam, you'd sound like a hater.

I mean, do you only watch the films of people you agree with about everything? Do you do a background check on the composers of every song you listen to?

Part of being a member of society is co-existing with others. In the cast and crew, movies are full of Scientologists, Republicans, vegetarians, Democrats, Communists, atheists, homosexuals, Jews, Muslims, hippies, Christians, fans of that hockey team you don't like, stoners, Beliebers and any number of other viewpoints and affiliations you don't approve of. It doesn't mean that their involvement automatically makes it propaganda. If you boycott a movie just because someone involved has a religious or political perspective contrary to your own, you're not going to be able to see too many movies.

Giovanni Ribisi's a very talented guy, and I love his work. His Scientology has no bearing on that.

Make no mistake... ALL organized "religion" is terrifying and a scam... A very successful scam at that...

It's funny you should mention coexisting with others. Scientology teaches their members to separate themselves from main society because they don't want them tainted by societies' impurities. They also separate them from their no-conformist family members and don't allow them to contact them. They also separate young children from their parents and have them raised in a boarding house by strangers and older "programmed" scientologist children and work them into exhaustion repairing and fixing their boarding house and grounds and ridicule them in front of the whole group if they deviated tom or question in any way their programming. It's truly a sick "religion".

Is there any other kind?

It is what it is. Most likely his connections to Scientology have propelled him as far as he has gotten. He will never be a leading man. He is an average actor with average looks and incredible management. He should thank his lucky stars.
