the man looks nothing who he really is

he looks like a bruiser, b-actor, but when he talks you clearly see the man is very intelligent, you just want to be in his team, under his command. jurassic park, the usual suspects, so far i'm very impressed.

So far? He already proved his esteem time and time again, and is now dead. So you gotta decide from what you already got to see whether you are impressed or not.

He wasn't dead when the OP posted that. But the rest of your point is valid. It wasn't like he was some new kid on the block. He's had a 35 year career. If someone couldn't decide on his ability as an actor by now they never will, even if Pete had lived another 30 years.

reply

the op meant he was impressed by his performances that he has seen...thus far. Which probably means that the op has only recently 'discovered' him and is only now starting to pay attention to him.

That's how I interpreted him and I don't see why the first person to reply had to make a big deal out of it. (he also could have glanced over at the date that the thread was posted)

A very good example of what Pete was capable of, is his performance in the two early Sharpe films Sharpe's Company and Sharpe's Enemy. He and Sean Bean were brilliant together, as always.

RIP Pete, you were one of my favourite actors and I'll miss you dearly.
