He was up and about during The Town!!! maybe like me he was having a wee lie down cos he'd read Inceptions script and it was dull as the resulting film.

Jokes aside

Pete was a great actor though just look at In the Name of The father as Guieseppe Conlon he was incredible.

RIP Pete

"Its just a ride"

Ah okay I didn't realise he was in the town, will check it out. I wasn't joking though. I just thought he might have been trying to do all he could do before the end. I usually have a laugh on the boards at the trolls when someone dies (and occasionally troll myself) but Pete was just too good for that. Such a loss to the movie world.

I don't think he looked too good in The Town either, his neck looked too narrow (throat cancer I bet) and he spent his scenes mainly being stationary or sitting down.

reply

It wasn't throat cancer.. it really dosn't matter what he died from. Its just very sad for his children and wife and all his friends and family. I had the pleasure to spend time with him a couple of years ago and he was a humble lovely man and a true gentleman.

I'm assuming he had terminal throat cancer since he admitted he likes his booze and smokes, plus many years ago he survived testical cancer.

But a great actor with a great presence, he elevated many movies that are considered somewhat bad (like Alien 3 and The Lost World) and The Usual Suspects wouldn't be the same without him.

I did not know he was actually ill in the Town but I remember distinctly thinking that he looked like lost weight and had aged 20 years since I saw him last.

Don't trust reality. After all, it's only a collective hunch.

Yes, he didn't look too good.
