I sometimes wish this former A- list mostly movie actress was still alive. She didn't make a movie the last two decades of her life but everyone still loved her. I think she would have called out that A list actor in the movie that made her famous. She always told those close to her about his assault on her and the constant harassment from the director who wanted her to get as close to naked as possible. She was underage so couldn't get naked on camera, but he pressured her all day every day to take off her clothes and would be rude when she refused and then wrote away some of her part to the actress who was willing to get naked for the director and the movie.

Actress: Amanda Peterson (Born: July 8, 1971 - Died: July 3, 2015)
Movie: "Can't Buy Me Love"
Actor: Patrick Dempsey
Director: Steve Rash

Unfortunately it was way worse than that. Back in the 80s she was used as a sex doll by producers, directors, money men - borderline raping her. David Oliver was part of her crew as well. He contracted HIV from these guys and died a few years later. Amanda became a full blown drug addict. It was crazy times. Totally insane having kids young as 12-13 years old partying with older men. Mountains of coke , free flowing booze.

Im glad the business have changed.

Found this comment made a few years ago:

Amanda Peterson walked away because she was being pestered for sex by her agent and an unknown movie director from LA. She chose to walk away as that way the people harassing her couldn't blackmail her as she was no longer famous. Sue me if you want, I'm not from America but I keep in touch with her still and that's all I'm prepared to say.

When I was a teenager in the 2000's I really got into ''80's movies''. I watched Can't buy me love and decided to go on IMDB one day to find her thread and there were loads of drama on her page. These weren't fans gossiping but her personal friends and those in the community who knew her. They were talking about her drug habits, how many times she was arrested and how she lost custody of her daughter. Many people typed they were concerned she would kill herself soon. They posted everything she was doing and exactly what happened in the last week in her life (cops called, suicide attempt).

What a nightmare. Imagine being a former child/teen actress and then having you IMDB page turn into a gossip section about your personal problems by all your so-called ''friends''. Hope the woman rests in peace.

I remember her in Explorers.
The older I get the more I realize Hollywood is dark and full of Predators, drugs, pedophiles who destroy kids lives.
