In the Line of Fire is amazing!

Will be always remembered as Das Boot director. Troy was also ok, but had a lot to apology for Air Farce One. RIP.

He made some great blockbusters. Would have loved to see him make a superhero movie. R.I.P.

Fuck. I just watched Shattered and really enjoyed it, was thinking ‘where the hell has Wolfgang been since Poseidon?’ only to discover he popped his clogs a few days ago 😞

Dude knew how to construct films properly, and always showed the geography during action/fight scenes. Troy and Air Force One had fantastic combat scenes - clean, clear, good choreography, no choppy editing to hide lazy stunt work. Solid German construction!

Even his ‘bad’ films were good - Poseidon is wildly underrated. That film has some of the most excruciatingly tense sequences I’ve ever seen.

Rest In Peace, Wolfy. You knew how to make proper blockbusters (which is probably why modern Hollywood had no place for you)
