Is she hated only because she's ugly?

Or did she do or say something in the past?

I don't think she is hated as such. What annoys people, particularly men, is how it is pushed into our faces all the time, mainly by woman, how attractive & brilliant she is, when she is in fact an average looking woman & actress.

Yes. There are plently of very average looking men who Hollywood wants to make out like they are handsome when they are far from it. Some of them are terrible actors. I guarantee you they don't get near as much hate. I can guarantee the people who are bashing her looks here are average to ugly. I know she isn't beauty or Meryl Streep in acting. She is better then Adam Sandler, Will Ferell, Jack Black ect. Those men are unbearable.

The men you name -- Sandler, Ferrell, Black -- are famous because they do comedy. Good looks don't really come into it. Funny men are extremely appealing (allowing for individual tastes -- I can't stand Adam Sander comedies, and will only sometimes watch Will Ferrell or Jack Black). Comedians on the whole are also an intelligent bunch, also an appealing trait. As for Sarah Jessica Parker, she's extremely slender, has tons of energy, has dance training and can sing. And her personality shines brightly. Watching the 1st season of SATC, I absolutely see why the show was so popular.

And when I saw her in LA Story, I was amazed at the fizzy energy she displayed in every scene, hopping around on roller skates, diving into and out of the frame, daring Steve Martin's character to keep up with her. She's a phenomenon.

Oh, and she's beautiful.

No. Also because she lacks talent.

Her anti-American leftist politics make her much uglier on the inside than she could ever be on the outside.
