GIVE LIAM AN BREAK!!!

I wish people would stop knocking Liam Neeson. He openly admitted he had racist thoughts (SEVERAL YEARS AGO), he openly admitted he was wrong when he felt the way he did (SEVERAL YEARS AGO), and he openly apologized for the way he felt (SEVERAL YEARS AGO). He is being unfairly scapegoated. LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!

reply

Racism is a complete no-no these days, yet the US authorities jail more black men than any other demographic. Ironic, really.

reply

do the crime u do the time. nothing racist about that

reply

Black men are getting higher prison sentences for doing the same type of crime as white people.

No criminal should get away scot-free, but there should be some parity between black and white criminals.

Foebane72 is right. We're getting bogged down arguing about what a white movie actor thought, but did not act on, forty years ago, and yet we still have black people actually being shot, beaten and incarcerated, by the authorities, in vastly greater numbers than whites.

reply

The reason black men get higher prison sentences is because they spend all there drug money on hoes, cars, and other frivolous bullshit. meanwhile a white drug dealer is a little smarter most of the time and saves some of his dope money for a the rainy day he gets caught. A good lawyer can get u out of a jam much better than a court appointed one. Its part of the afro american culture to do hoodrat stuff. This alongside with poor organizational skills is why a buncha blacks get caught and do time. nothing racist about that, its just survival of the fitness

reply

*fittest
Fitness is where you pump iron.

reply

"do the crime u do the time." ... no one but you used that phrase, so why are you talking about something that is not the issue?

The issue is that blacks are institutionally pushed towards criminality in a lot of ways, and police and the so-called justice system assist in that. Aside from that there are actual criminals and crimes that do get handled correctly one would assume, but there are, as judged by large numbers of objective American citizens, such a large number of unfair cases that it stains the entire existence of what America means and is supposed to be all about, therefore it needs to stop, or at the very least be talked about clearly and honestly.

reply

Even if the government stopped the war on drugs. blacks would still be going to jail all the time for robberies and shootin each other and stuff. libtards love to talk about all this systematic bullshit but never blame the perpetrators of the crime. Lots of black people are great citizens but the bad apples will always be pushing those statistics up

reply

Sure, just like with white people ... until the bad apples are all the way into the White House.

reply

Obuma was the worst president. his wife was a dog ugly transsexual man.

reply

I agree. Thankfully Obama is out.

reply

Police arent perfect and Neither are Blacks see the film Detroit

reply

40 years ago and he honestly talks about it and he's scapgoated. Mark Wahlberg blinds a man out of racial hatred and it barely made the news when it came out. The less Liam talks about it the quicker most people will forget

reply

It was 26 years ago and the man was beaten but was not blinded by Wahlberg.
Those are the facts.
It's a horrible thing but I think there's some kind of fallacy among some people that other people do not change or ever deserve forgiveness. The man attacked has forgiven him and he's the only person that really counts.

As to Liam; from my understanding it was 30 or 40 years ago as he was a young man in Ireland after a family member was raped. Is it a horrible way to think?
..of course.
No different than some blacks that have a bad experience and blame the entire white race...or men that blame all women or women all men from a bad experience..or the ignorance that fuels wars and terrorism.
It's probably not as rare as we would all hope.

But not acknowledging that people can change is the very reason we cannot ever come together and have honest conversations about what causes these instances of hate toward an entire group of people.

reply

Well said. People change. Especially if we're talking about 40 years after the fact.

And it still baffles me that Mark Wahlberg's hate crime doesn't get scrutinized as much. Like Liam, he changed, but Mark actually followed through with his intended hate crime and, as far as I know, he wasn't faced with a tragedy in his family. He wasn't just as racist guy out to hurt a minority and did so.

reply

Oh for some reason I thought he was blinded. Well anyhow yes he was forgiven and that is perfectly cool.

reply

When I read about the Mark Wahlberg incident I have also read that the man was blinded.

So it’s not you thinking it for some reason, you probably read it somewhere as did I.

That being said, if the information comes from some tabloid it’s not necessarily true and just a rumor.

But I think it might be true, don’t remember where I read it before. Should google it and find some reliable info source.

Then I suppose you NEVER had a bad thought? Jesus said it best "He who is without sin, cast the first stone"

reply

O, goodie! The Mel Gibson defense. You know things are bad when they have to drag out that chestnut.

reply

I remember people using the same defense for Bill Clinton.

reply

No one is "knocking" Liam Neeson for the things you say ... i.e. racist thoughts, feelings, etc.

I believe they are knocking him for telling a story that cannot be verified or proven that included walking around like George Zimmerman looking for an excuse to be violent to pay back a person of a given race for something another person of that race supposedly did - that he did not witness or that did not affect him personally.

There is a huge difference, and putting out a "straw" version of what happened to minimize Liam Neeson's" story is not helpful to anyone.

So, you think he might be lying? What possible reason on Earth would he have to lie about all this? The story doesn't make him look very good, and, alas, his honesty has brought nothing but condemnation.

And, unlike George Zimmerman, Neeson hasn't actually killed anyone. Instead, he committed a 'thought crime'.

*that he did not witness or that did not affect him personally.*

He says a close relative was raped. You don't think that's enough reason to feel rage? How would you feel if a close family member had told you they'd recently been raped?

Of course, Neeson did not handle his anger the right way, but no doubt he felt at a loss to do something, and so violence, which it must be stressed, he did not go through with, was the only way in his mind that he could 'undo' the harm that had been done to his relative.

What makes me laugh is that so many so-called 'progressives', including many men, are at pains to tell us how so few men take rape seriously, and here we have a story where a man was deeply affected and traumatised by his relative's account. Yes, he dealt with it the wrong way. Yes, he made it about himself. But I'd argue that he felt this way only because he was so distraught at the harm done to his relative.

And perhaps we should 'minimise' Neeson's story, seeing as he's talking about a non-event that took place forty years ago. No-one was murdered. No-one was assaulted by Neeson.

reply

I think Neeson is at a point in his life where he's secure and has nothing to lose by admitting these negative thoughts. It creates a healthy dialog.

reply

Cannot be verified or proven? You mean like the Cavanaugh lynching?

He's one of the reasons Hollywood has the climate it does. He's a nice little liberal. Did he honestly think, by the liberal rulebook, he could confess that the spent a week or a week an a half hoping to beat any black man to death -- anyone would do -- because he thought it would somehow get justice for a friend who'd been raped? Did he understand rape? Did this fine, upstanding liberal think that would somehow "unrape" her? Did he think this would be taken as a potential crime of passion when he nursed this bigoted hatred for a week, a week and a half? Did he think it wasn't racism if he announced he'd have been happy to have killed just anyone of any other race if that had been the "guilty race"? Was he so stupid that he couldn't see that thinking there was a "guilty race" rather than a guilty man that it was RACEism? Was he so stupid that he thought, in the climate he'd helped create, that a man admitting he went around for a week and a half wanting to kill any black man who presented himself would be greeted as his fans have greeted it? Or did he think it would be greeted like fine, upstanding liberals like himself would have greeted it in a self-avowed conservative?

If he gets a pass on this, it's precisely because he is a liberal in good standing in the Hollywood community, since this is straight up racism that, while it happened long ago, his defenders seem to miss that he's still making excuses for.

O, please! Do pull the other one!

reply

What a rant. For me a useless one.

reply

I'll never forgive him...for Taken 2 & 3 and for The Other Man!

reply

"An break?" What does that even mean?

reply

It means the OP is an idiot and not a fit object for conversation. That describes too many posters on this site. I mean, “me and my girlfriend”? Really?

reply

It takes a lot of courage to tell that. It could have ruined his career.
