Did Taken really turn him into an action star, or was it Batman Begins?

Because I could swear all his moves from the Taken franchise were lifted 99% from his role as Ra's al Ghul.

And besides, he was badass enough to have being Batman's teacher/mentor!

I just really doubt he would've made Taken (being chosen, or being physically ready to make his character that believable/entertaining) had it not been for his role in BB.

I think Star Wars and Batman both gave produces enough confidence in him to take a shot as an action lead.

Star Wars?

In that case, I rather remember Excalibur. Neeson and Darth Maul were the ONLY good things out of that mess, and both were killed off...

I agree it was not a good movie but as you said Neeson did well with what he had to work with and showed he could do action.

Definitely, "Taken" did that for him. He was great in Batman but, no one said "I have a particular set of skills..." Blah blah blah in referring to TDKR. Does anyone quote any of his lines in TDK? Nnnnope.

"Taken" made him a random, older action star. I do like him in this older, action *beep* character, but I do love that he stopped that typecasting dead in its tracks.

...Bruce Willis should take note.

Love Actually turned him into an action star.
