He deserves a lot of credit!

Eddie Murphy was the first black global box office star whose films have nearly grossed 7 billion at the box office. I was watching a video on YouTube where the late rapper Heavy D was at the 'Norbit' premiere and described him as "the originator of black Hollywood" which I think is the perfect description of Eddie.

He helped paved the way for many to follow such as Will Smith, Kevin Hart, Chris Rock etc. They're all owe him a huge debt.

Even actresses such as Halle Berry and Jada Pinkett Smith got major exposure breakthroughs in their careers after starring in a film with him. Halle Berry in 'Boomerang' and Jada in 'The Nutty Professor' respectively.

I just feel like these days his career is being remembered by some of his box office flops rather than by his incredible history especially what he did in the 80s.

In my opinion he's really slept on these days. Yes I know he did 'Mr. Church' which was a really good film in my opinion. It just did really badly at the box office. It's almost like he's not relevant anymore(I hate to admit) To conclude he still deserves a lot of credit for what he's done in Hollywood. What do you guys think?
