The legendary Brazilian Bombshell is getting her own DVD set!
And I'm sooo glad for having noticed it -a few minutes ago!
It is time for she to get it, isn't it?
I've watched a lot of documentaries on her, read bios and listened her records, since so many years ago, and always was very curious to see an entire Carmen movie. Few days ago, I got the Alice Faye and Betty Grable DVD sets (along with the "Week-end in Havana" DVD), honestly, just thinking of watching -at last- the adorable Carmen acting and singing her mythical musical numbers.
Now, I admitt I do love Alice and Betty (never saw a movie of them both previously either), but adore Carmen even more -if possible- than before!
Those 20th Century Fox '40s musicals are just magical! Incomparable! So exotique! Brilliant! The usual cast (especially Charlotte Greenwood and Don Ameche) is just awesome, perfect! Love the Technicolor, the songs, the performances, the ingenious plots... But, over all, the sensational-splendid-fantastic-unforgettable-lovely-ever radiant Carmen Miranda.
Now, according to I've read, the movies that are coming are not exactly her greatest, but, anyway... I would see just anything with her in it!
