I wouldn't necessarily condone giving it to her. Don't get me wrong I like her and she's a pretty good actress. However, I associate the Hollywood walk of fame star to ne just that: Hollywood. She is a TV actress and while successful; that success had been accumulated with only 2 TV shows during her entire career; twelve years all together: 6 on ER and 6 for The Good Wife. Her other credits are almost non existent or nothing to write home about.

Actually, giving her the star is appropriate - not to mention she deserves it more than many film and television stars who have already been given one (e.g., Kaley Cuoco, Jennifer Hudson, etc.). Television is, in fact, a large part of Hollywood, even though it may not have originally been a large medium of stardom and success in the past. Today, however, TV is in its golden age and she won the lottery twice with two of the most critically beloved shows of the past twenty years. These shows also haven't been on for a mere, forgettable season or two - they have helped define their respective decades in television.

She has more SAG Award wins than any other female in the entire acting industry -albeit only for television - but she has more than Edie Falco or Tina Fey.

She has been nominated for 12 Golden Globes (won once) and they were for four different shows. In terms of Best Actress nominations, only Angela Lansbury has more leading nominations.

She has won three Emmys over ten nominations.

How many performers on television or film can say they have been critically decorated as much as she has been? I'm not trying to say she's the best actress on television, but I am saying that her recognition is well-deserved with 25 years in the making. The Hollywood stars have different categories (e.g., film stars, musicians, radio, etc.), so it is fair to say that she is one of her category's most prized and recognizable stars - in television. And she makes a hell of a lot of money, too.

I'm 72 and have seen many great actors and you are one of the finest. I look forward to seeing your star soar to great heights.

I whole completely agree. It seems they give stars on the walk of fame to anyone nowadays. I see the names on there and they are of real movie stars whose names will be remembered forever.
