Why aren't German actresses considered the beautiful?

God knows. I had some German girlfriends when I was a teenager just because my mother had room for students so I tend to rate Germans high on the back of my experiences. I have just WWW'ed the two you mentioned but models morphing into actresses does not always work. Surely there must be German actresses that are pure actresses and even better than the two you mentioned. Since you are so interested please, just for the hell of it, give me some examples of those.

The movie business in Germany, compared not just to the US but even France or Italy for example, has been tiny for decades.
There have been some rare exceptions, mostly artistic and/or deep movies, like "Die Blechtrommel" or the unique blockbuster "das Boot" in the 80s and 90s.

If there's not much business going on, you won't attract a plethora of young people opting for this career choice.
Of the top of my head, I can't think of a single male actor in Germany similar to Jean Paul Belmondo or Alain Delon, for example. Even for the internationally successful "Winnetou" series, they had to hire foreign actors. So it's no surprise, that in a dwindling business there aren't too many memorable figures.
I'd say, it's not just about "German actresses maybe not being considered that beautiful".
You could simply say, you'll have trouble to name more than a handful of German actress in total to begin with...

Nowadays, things look slightly different.
There have been some relatively successful German films, generating a few starlets.
But again, most of those films have been successful only in German speaking countries.
The actors are known to 10 million movie viewers in Germany and some neighboring countries. But in UK, the US and other countries you'll never hear from them.

If you only know a handful of German actresses in total, how likely is it to find a strikingly beautiful woman amongst those? Compared to dozens or hundreds of actresses from Hollywood each of us easily could name?

Both are models, not acresses. Diane switched to acting but I think this only worked because of her Looks but not so much her acting skills. I personally like the actresses Roswitha Schreiner and Alexandra Neldel, both strikingly beautiful, but this is always in the eyes of the beholder. You might say they arey okay or even ugly, but I for one can't stand Miss Klum.

Why and where would you even want to stand her? Me, I'd rather lay 'er somewhere...anywhere... 
