Met William H. Macy

A couple years back, I was at O' Hare airport with my sister, and there I met William H. Macy. My sister persuaded me to go up and talk to him, so I did. I went up and introduced myself and said how great of a performance he had in Fargo. He thanked me and have me a fake smile. He seemed really pissed off, not at me, but maybe his flight was delayed or something. After we shook hands, he said he had to go meet someone and he left. It was kind of rude of him, he could have at least acted kind to a fan, but I digress.

Anyone else have any bad experiences with meeting celebrities?

Macy's like the nicest guy in Hollywood. I've met him before too and found him to be incredibly kind and approachable.

Did you think maybe he had to meet someone?

Everyone has a bad day.

I saw him in Los Angeles once. Around 2011 or so.

Him and Felicity Huffman walked past my wife and I. And first, I did a double take. And just started thinking WHOA!!. We locked eyes, and he had the look of "Please don't be an annoying fan" But I didn't bother them.

I'm sure I creeped him out some. LOL

He was nice to you, even if the smile was fake he smiled, and honest. What more do you want????

I live in Nashville and we see "celebrities" (country music stars) all the time, yet we have an unwritten rule here not to approach or bother them. They are not performing, they are not in concert. They need to get their Starbucks or do their shopping or finish their work-out just like anybody else.

Frankly I think "fans" that approach these celebrities in airports, malls, etc. are the rude ones.

the best that you can do is fall in love

Sorry to hear your encounter with him didn't meet to your hopes.
I have met well over 1000 actors & musicians, and probably 5000 athletes.
William H. Macy is easily 1 of the 100 nicest I have met from any of the professions combined.

I just met him yesterday on the set of The Layover.
He is directing it, which means he has a LOT of demands on his time as it is... as well, 1 of his daughters was on the set vying for his time.
He saw my friend and I standing off to the side about 40 ft away from where he was talking to several crew guys and came over without hesitation and introduced himself, signed for us then went back to the 100 things he had to do. I watched him 3 mins later do the same thing for a woman who was fangirling over noticing someone she knew on the street and was even a little drunk. He still took the time to take a pic with her & her BF despite the fact he was busy heading back to set. I rarely see celebs volunteer their time like that. usually you have to ASK them to sign, and directors are even harder in my experiences. So I personally have to say he was nothing short of terrific.

Ha - who is not in a bad mood at an airport? Ohare especially has problems with their flights...
My friend and her mom ran into him shopping and they said he was smiling and charming.
