I think they're mocking his character more than Lloyd himself (because the Doc was brought up in pre-Civil Rights America).

Haven't seen the clip but are you confusing Michael (Kramer) Richards from "Seinfeld" w/ Chris (Jim Ignatowski) Lloyd from "Taxi"? They've both got that kinda quirky thing going, y'know?
