Why has he never worked with Kevin Smith?

I always thought he'd be perfect for a Smith movie, plus look at all the connections....he was in Scream 1 (and 2, but he was in the background in a scene) which was directed by Wes Craven who cameoed in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Also, Jay and Silent Bob made a cameo in Scream 3 and they did a then-fictional Scream 4 in Strike Back. Also, they refrenced She's All That in Strike Back, which also featured Lillard, and lastly, they did a spoof of Scooby-Doo in Strike Back in which Lillard starred in the real version a year later. Funny, eh?

Obviously you haven't the sufficient "nerd" culture to understand the conversations he wrote, and your inability to have a clue of what's going on must have created in you a jealousy and/or hatred of his fans, I mean, "how could people like something I can't follow, impossible !".

After those inanities in your last sentence, I wonder why I'm even trying to educate you, you're obviously one of these breed of people who think their opinion is truth and that will never recognize their fault. Oh well, I would have tried...

sooooooooooooo pretentious

Showing pretentious signs to someone that is pretentious isn't necessarily being pretentious, it can also be a mere attempt at making him open his eyes about his own pretentiousness.

I've criticised others for resorting to either petty vulgar insults or equating someones statement to that of a childs (hurr what are you 12?).

In this case I'm sorely tempted to do both. Instead, I'll just say this:

I used to be a big fan of Kevin Smith, loved everything he made. As I get older I kinda look back and my opinion has changed quite a bit, to the point where I understand the kind of contempt the establishment seems to have for him; which seems to be purely about his writing/screenplays and how utterly juvenile they are.

Look at his live shows. They're hosted at universities/colleges, attended by immature kids who just want to hear him insult other famous people, with a small minority actually interested in hearing his views on film-making and what it takes to break into the industry.

Red State was great though.

I'm very tempted to just say that you're a child (what are you, 5 ?), but I won't, instead I'll just say this :

I think you're wrong about his movies being juvenile, and the fact that you once loved his movies or that a lot of young people like them doesn't prove anything.
