She was the most promising major motion picture actress out there and then she succumbed to doing TV and Shorts. Can you imagine Pitt or De Niro suddenly doing shorts and TV sitcoms? Did she get into Drugs?

shareIt's much more common for actresses to NOT be big stars after they get to be 30-40 years old. So nothing really has "to happen" for this to occur. It's like asking what happened that stopped me from attending Harvard.
She also still has a career. It just happens to be more in indie and television dramas (I don't know that she's really been on many sitcoms and she hasn't hit the bottom rung of celebrity and started doing "reality" shows). Also, the big Hollywood movies are for largely made for teenagers/young people--unless she wants to be relegated to "sexy-mother-of-a-teen" roles, she's probably better off taking leading parts on TV or in indies which have a halfway MATURE audience.
Can you imagine DeNiro making terrible comedies? Oh yeah, he does that now.

Really? People act like doing TV is the kiss of death. There are many talented actors who will do TV projects. Lewis is amazing at her craft and will always be.
