Did anyone notice that sometime between 1993 and 1995 his look drastically changed? I thought someone mentioned this on this board but I will mention it now. Up til Grumpy Old Men he had his still good looks from the days of the Original Odd Couple, etc. Then I saw the posters for Grumpier Old Men and My Fellow Americans, then noticed he looked like he had plastic surgery. Anyone know if that was true? Kinda is obvious but ya never know. The human skin elasticity is a wonder in itself.

Please IMDB posters, no rudeness. Most of the time when some people respond to posts, its like they use this part of all the bios to start trash talk. I dont want to be someone's target thanks.

In later tears he was going through the ravages if cancer. That might change the difference.

If memory serves me right too from the books I have on him, he did have plastic surgery to remove bags under his eyes. Roughly around 1998, which was before he was diagnosed with cancer.

I fear you are right about the surgery; my then-wife made a remark accordingly upon watching one his later movies, saying 'how sad, he lost that very likeable wink in his eyes!'
A marvelous actor, at any rate, and one of my all-time favorites!!!

Also because they airbrush the heck out of older actors' faces on many movie posters, especially if they're in the lead,to give a more youthful appearance and presumably to attract a wider (younger) audience.

Sadly, he had his upper eyelids sculpted out too much and yeah he lost his twinkle. People are at the mercy of their surgeons skill or lack of!
